The Awards Committee is tasked with recognizing excellence and expertise among Admissions colleagues who are engaged in any form of admissions, education, service, and/or practice. Committee objectives include: Solicit nominations for award recognition based on the various categories. Review and revise current award classifications for the purpose of improving and easing the nominations process in the future. Encourage nominations for the various awards from among their peers. Keep a historical record of all award recipients.
The SUNYCAP Annual Conference typically takes place the second or third week of June. The Conference Planning Committee is formed at the conclusion of the Annual Conference with the newly elected President‐Elect taking an active role in the planning of this event. Areas of responsibilities include: facilities (hotel) coordinator, marketing/promotion, conference program/printing coordinator, vendors/conference sponsorship, speakers, workshops, technology, fundraising initiative and hospitality/entertainment. It is the President‐Elect’s prerogative to organize the conference planning committee any way he/she sees fit (Chair, Co‐Chair or Tri‐Chair model).
The Directors of Admission Committee includes the Directors of Admission from each SUNY campus. It serves as an information conduit among the directors, the SUNYCAP Executive Board, and SUNY System Administration. The committee assists with the organization of regular Directors meetings in conjunction with System Administration. Topics discussed often include system‐wide changes, SUNY Viewbook updates, key educational vendor presentations, ex‐offender processing procedures, home‐school issues, and specific sector‐wide areas of interest.
The Grants & Scholarships committee is charged with selecting candidates who will receive professional development grants and scholarship money to attend various conferences across the state and nation. It is the committee’s responsibility to see that all paid SUNYCAP members are aware of the awards, fairly decide who gets the award and then to see that payback (referred to as give‐back) is received within one year of receiving the grant
The Diversity Committee is tasked with various aspects of diversity related issues both within SUNY and within SUNYCAP.
The committee is charged with organizing and executing the annual professional development opportunity for new admissions professionals to the SUNY system.
The Nominations and Election Committee solicits nominations and conducts the electoral process that elects members to the SUNYCAP Executive Committee. The Committee conducts an impartial and unbiased electoral process; facilitates the growth of SUNYCAP by encouraging members to become more actively involved; fosters diversity by involving the membership in nominating and electing qualified individuals to the various positions on the Executive Committee.
The Technology Committee is tasked with all aspects of technology within SUNYCAP, including, but not limited to: the website, web maintenance, server issues, etc.
The Operation Inform series provides an opportunity for school counselors and SUNY admissions
representatives to discuss what's new and different, current issues and concerns. The Committee is to
serve as a professional forum for discussion of admission policies and procedures with the school
counseling community. The committee will work jointly with System Administration in the best interest of
the school counseling community, college applicants, and the College or University.
The committee develops workshops delivering the same message throughout the state. In doing so, the
committee has the opportunity to increase the quality of the Operation Inform series each year.
The Operation Inform committee is charged with developing and maintaining a system of professional communication and dialogue among admissions professionals within the school counseling community. The Operation Inform series provides an opportunity for school counselors and SUNY admissions representatives to discuss what's new and different, current issues and concerns. The Committee is to serve as a professional forum for discussion of admission policies and procedures with the school counseling community. The committee will work jointly with System Administration in the best interest of the school counseling community, college applicants, and the College or University. The committee develops workshops to ensure consistent, targeted messaging throughout the state. In doing so, the committee has the opportunity to increase the quality of the Operation Inform series each year.

The SUNYCAP Leadership Institute (SLI) committee manages all initiatives that assist the development of future leaders who in return will be retained, challenged and enriched through professional opportunities. The committee coordinates the SLI program leading to the Certificate in Enrollment Management
