SUNYCAP is hosting our annual New Professionals Orientation once again this summer but with a twist! Linking the program with our annual meeting and conference was such a huge success last summer that we're doing it again. This year's Pre-Conference Institute (new name!) will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Syracuse, near Carrier Circle, allowing all of our new professionals to transition seamlessly into the conference the following day.

We know that the state budget has affected everyone this year, but we also know that whether someone is new to admissions or just new to the SUNY system, it's crucial to be aware of the resources and the people that help keep the system running and this year, it's even easier to help those new people stay connected to SUNYCAP as an organization! The mission of the NPO has always been to provide new SUNY admissions staff members, hired in the past year, in this case, since summer 2010 an opportunity to learn about SUNY, best practices for high school visits and college fairs, travel tricks of the trade and to network with other new professionals. This program is not only for those who are new to the profession, but new to SUNY too. We anticipate the program to be fast paced, interactive and highly stimulating.

As this year's program will not be held in Albany, we're including a "virtual tour" of the ASC, as well as a full Q&A workshop with Cheryl Perrillo, Interim Assistant Provost for Enrollment Services, and Mary Gulliver, Director of the ASC.

There is a $50 charge for the Pre-Conference Institute, by check made payable to SUNYCAP. Please contact Chris Orso at 631-632-6875 or via e-mail to register your new employees today!
